This series explores the evolution and impact of the Garbage Pail Kids phenomenon, tracing its journey from a 1980s American childhood icon to its adaptation and transformation within Israeli popular culture. We will cover the changes the brand underwent during this period and the role it played in Israeli politics, satire and for different religious groups.

Dr. Ido Noy is a researcher and curator of Jewish art and popular culture. His research interests cover various disciplines, geographies, and periods, including Hasmonean and Herodian numismatics in antiquity, Ashkenazi wedding jewelry in the Middle Ages, Judaica from the Bezalel School, contemporary Jewish art, folklore, and popular culture.
