Redemption is an important motif in Judaism. It begins with the original Exodus of the Hebrew slaves from Egypt and continues to the contemporary Exodus – the creation of the State of Israel – as the first step of the Divine promise to liberate all of humanity.

In light of Rabbi Greenberg’s new book, “The Triumph of Life: A Narrative Theology of Judaism”, we will explore the liberation from slavery as partial fulfillment of the ultimate goal of the Jewish covenant with God – the victory over all the enemies of life: poverty, hunger, oppression, war and sickness, with the Earth turned into a paradise.
