What did Greeks and Romans know (or think they knew) about Moses and the Exodus?

The Exodus story emerged as the most popular story about Jews and Judaism in Greco-Roman literature. But this version was at times far removed from the Biblical account, and was frequently revised to dovetail with changing attitudes towards Jews in antiquity
