Synagogues: The Heart of the Community

We will present the synagogues of the Golan, the region with the highest concentration of ancient synagogues in Israel. We’ll explore what happened to the synagogues of the Roman period, what makes the Golan’s synagogues special in their architecture and decoration, and how these buildings served as central hubs of both religious and social identity.
