Prof. Avigdor Shinan and curator Lihi Sapir will delve into the character of Hagar as the second wife, the concubine, as against Sarah - Avraham's first wife.
Her biblical story will be compared to the relationship between Picasso and his various wives, as they are reflected in his works.

The Israel Museum is hosting Beit Avi Chai for a series of meetings that include a slightly different conversation about the weekly Torah portion.
Every week, Prof. Avigdor Shinan or Rabbi Prof. Dalia Marx will talk with the museum's curators about the notable figures and topics that arise from the week's parashah or haftara. The meetings are filmed in the natural environment of the works and exhibits in the museum halls. In this way the Jewish texts and their interpretations are examined against the world of images and museum exhibits, and the combinations create a new and completely unconventional point of view.
